THE IMPLEMENTATION OF “HEALTHY” (HEALTH EDUCATION AND LEARNING THROUGH ENGLISH) FOR 5th GRADERS STUDENTS OF SD NEGERI KARANGBESUKI 1, MALANG CITY

Abstract

Educational activities can be understood as an effort to cultivate knowledge and moral values in students. In the current era of globalization, the role of education is increasingly crucial, which is also supported by the role of English as a medium of communication in education. Through this service, health education by integrating English for children at an early age can be understood as an effort to provide understanding of the issue in common diseases, as well as the prevention of a healthy lifestyle. The purpose of the service is to provide an education on health issues, as well as integrate the concept of interactive English learning for 5th grade students of SD Negeri Karangbesuki 1, Malang City. The method for implementing the service is using two steps: using the method of qualitative for the observation; then continues with socialization and discussion for the learning program implementation, which involves participation from students. The result of the implementation of the service is the creation of an active and collaborative classroom towards the concept of health socialization and the implementation of English. Learners are able to play an active role in building health awareness from an early age, and using English as a medium of learning communication.
